Do you believe in fate, especially in a relationship?

Many people believe in fate, especially in their relationships. They think if two people mean to be together, they will be together. Otherwise, no matter how hard they try, it won’t work. This fate controls the result. Some people also believe chemistry is the most important thing for a relationship. Chemistry can be fate or an attraction that happens almost instantly. Once the chemistry is there, everything will be easy. If there is no chemistry, it is just a waste of time to continue with the relationship. However, if we look at real life, we can easily see the power of the personality, which controls our attitude, influences our perception and judgment. Indeed, it drives or holds us back from happiness.

For instance, some people have a personality light and happy personality. They usually take almost all things lightly. They don’t get upset quickly, and they don’t remember if it is a good or bad experience. They can open arms and hearts to people. Opposite to them are some people who can ever relax well. They think a lot, always being cautious, sensitive, and analytical. Whatever they do, they seek perfection. The things they do must be perfect, and the partner they look for also should be perfect.

We also see some people who have a strong-willed and controlling nature. They like to be in control of everything, including their relationship. Then opposite to these people are the ones who want to relax, taking everything easy. They are not desperate for anything. People need to push them, sometimes push hard, and then they will move a couple of steps. In a dating situation, they are not creative or motivated to try different things. Some of them never even change their favorite restaurant and the dishes they chose for decades. For them, the ideal life is no change and no stress.

Interestingly personality also influences our physical attraction towards another person. We can like someone who regards as good-looking, or we can instantly reject someone even before knowing them. Some people would say because this is the sixth sense or chemistry. But I should say it is because of personality compatibilities; some are compatible, while others are not. These compatibilities don’t demonstrate in the things we do together, and it almost takes instant reaction when two people meet.

The good news about that is that personality compatibility is not fate. As long as we understand our personality and the people we are dealing with, we can know why and work with them. In a way, we can even create chemistry. In the following few articles, I like to explore different personalities and deal with people with that understanding.
